Webflow Earth Day Webpage

Our most recent project was to experiment with an assigned free website design tool. I was selected to experiment with Webflow.
From the editing page, I can click on any parts of the page and control the their attributes.
from these buttons, I can control the padding and margin in an easy and simple way.
I'm also able to change the size in which I am viewing the website. This allows me to see if my website is compatible with various mobile devices.

Things I like:

  • I like the ability to easily change the margin and padding of elements.
  • I like being able to view the website in different sizes.
  • I like that the templates are built to be responsive.
Things I didn't like:
  • I didn't like the restrictions for free accounts.
  • sometimes it's difficult to delete items.
  • you can only have 2 pages with a free account.
Overall:
Overall I think webflow is a pretty good free website builder. You will have some limitations such as being limited to 2 pages or being stuck with a webflow.io address.

Redesign X like Y project

Recently I was assigned to take a school website and make a copy of it modeled after a business website. Below are the results of the assignment.

The website that I started with:

Heres the website I modeled it after:

And here is the website that came from it:

The result website is after I took some artistic liberties with the smallcakes website. I removed the 3 column design on the smallcakes website and opted for a single column design. I liked the large image that smallcakes had, so I added a placeholder images that could be swapped out later for something like a news story about the school. I also made the district a logo in illustrator that they could use for things such as newsletters and shirts.
