Responsive Web Design (RWD) is a Web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from mobile phones to desktop computer monitors).
Why has responsive web design become so important?
Interacting with websites on smartphones and tablets is not the same as doing that on a desktop computer monitors. Factors such as Click versus Touch, Screen-size, Pixel-resolution, support for Adobe’s Flash technology, optimized markup and many more have become crucial while creating websites with Responsive Design.
What are media queries?
what are breakpoints in responsive design?
Break points in RWD are browser widths that have a media query declaration to change the layout once the browser is within the declared range.

Responsive Web Design Examples: Rally Interactive Website
Largest window: You can see that it has the 3 columns of triangles, the most of all the window widths
Medium window: has 2 columns of triangles, smallest width that has the arrows to the sides of the header.
Small window: has only 1 column of triangles, also does not have arrows left and right. Social network buttons have been removed, and the logo now appears on top of the page choices instead of at the side.
